Is it normal to drink water more than 8 glasses a day?

Answer #1

Everyone has a different norm. As long as you aren’t exhibiting other symptoms…

Answer #2

I personally drink 4 24 oz bottles of water a day. which is more then called for and i’m perfectly fine. Though you can overdo water.

Answer #3

I drink between 3 and 4 litres of fluid per day and that is equivalent to about 15 tumbler size glasses. Itr does not matter too much how big a proportion of the fluids are made up of pure water as other fluids (like tea, coffee and beer) are predominantly water anyway.

Most people do not drink enough fluids, and are frequently bordering on a state of dehydration. the more de-hydrated you are the darker the colour of your urine. At proper body hydration levels your urine should be nearly colourless.

Dehydration can cause headaches and will reduce the efficiency of the muscles and other organs.

My advice is that you continue to drink more than 8 glasses of water per day.

Answer #4

You should drink AT LEAST 8 glasses a day.

Answer #5

‘At proper body hydration levels your urine should be nearly colourless’ uhm no. Where did you get that from? That’s way too much water. And there’s no way one needs more than 8 glasses of water. Unless it’s particularly hot or one exercises a lot.

Answer #13

water is an essential requirement for all functions of your body. Many sources all over the internet will tell you how much to drink according to your weight, activity level, etc etc. Obviously people with kidney problems shouldn’t drink as much - follow the advice of a doctor if you have any health concerns. Otherwise, anywhere between 8 - 14 glasses a day is a reasonable amount.

Answer #19

“Drink at least eight glasses of water a day.” Really? Is there scientific evidence for “8 × 8”? Heinz Valtin Am J Physiol Regul Integr Comp Physiol 283: R993-R1004, 2002.

Alright, your turn for evidence…

Answer #20

my high school teacher was a doctor and he told us that you should only drink as much water as you need to stay hydrated

Answer #21

my quack said 8 glasses a day is a load of crap so there you go. im a diabetic and i still dont need 8 glasses of water a day lol

oh and i dont poogle cus poogle, as we all know isnt correct 99% of the time.

Answer #22

The eight glasses of water thing isnt true. Some people need more, some people need less, it all depends on the person. The best way to know if you are getting enough water is to check the colour of your urine - it should be pale yellow. If it is a strong yellow colour, you need more water, and if it is colourless, you are drinking too much. It is actually possible to be over-hydrated, and this can cause damage to your cells.

Answer #23
