I need help to overcome my guilty feeling. I was employed in a private concern very thing was going well, I was performing well but my boss was my big problem. She is kind of my age. We often end up with disputes at work. I decided to give up my job and stopped going to work without providing any resignation. Very went up smooth but after a period of time I started developing guilty feeling for doing so. I realize my mistake now but it is too late. Though try consoling myself by telling learn from your mistake, I still have some amount of guilty feeling. How could I overcome this. Please advice on this.
Don't beat yourself up too much. Giving notice is a courtesy. If your employer decided to fire you do you think they would give you 2 weeks notice ahead of time? Of course not!
Going forward, of course not giving notice means you have burned your bridge at this place. If in the future you ever wish to work for them again they probably wouldn't even consider you. On future job applications don't put them down as experience or reference as you don't want your potential employers to know you left them on bad terms.
You need to make amends....I would consider a letter of apology (or in person) and enclosing an amount of money....I'd feel a lot better having done this, knowing I tried to make things right....I admire you, if we've wronged someone, we should make it right.
Good Luck and God Bless !!
