How would you feel?

How would you feel if the person in charge of you in a workplace was younger than you?

I’ve never been in the situation but my boyfriend was saying if that was ever the case he’d actually quit the job! I think that’s quite extensive just because of someone’s age and I was just wondering how you would feel about it.

I think it would depend on their experience and how they got the job.

Some people have just been working at a particular job longer, giving them seniority, even though they may be younger.

If the person was hired on for an authority position, it would also depend on their background…you don’t hire a zookeeper to run a factory, right?

There’s nothing wrong with your boss being younger than you, but I can see how some people would feel put aside by it…imagine having to look up to somone who was born a decade after you.

That’s exactly what I said! But he said no matter what he’d quit even if it was only a couple of years younger. Maybe it would intimidate him or something, he wouldn’t give me a reason why.

I think it depends on their maturity. age isn’t the same thing as maturation.

my moms supervisor is younger then she is! age doesnt matter but the authority over you matters!
