my shih tzu didn't bleed when she was going out.

I caught my shih tzu when she bled while coming in. I put her with a male and she allowed him to mount her. I didn’t stay to watch, but they stayed together for a little over a week. Any way I was told that a dog bleeds twice. Once while coming in and once while going out. Well I was wondering if they don’t bleed while going out does that mean that they took up and they are now with puppies? Are there any other signs to tell if she is pregnant?

You need to read a book. Why don’t you go to the library and get a book on dog breeding. Why would you breed your dogs when you don’t even know what you are talking about. Do you know anything about having a litter of puppies?

How long will your dog carry her pups? Since you don’t know when they tied, you don’t know when your puppies are due!

Everyone that owns a dog should own at least 1 good reference book on their breed of dog and always be reading up on improving your breed.

Do you own 1 ONE book on your dog breed? What kind of male dog did you put her with? Another male dog? Do you mean another Shih Tzu male? Or just a dog?

The Dam while in heat normally has stopped bleeding when she is actually is ready to flag the male to bred her. A female dog will stand for a male when she is ready to bred and not until. She will nip and sit down and not let him mount her until she is ready. The heat cycle may last 21 days she may take as early as the 4th day and as late as the 21st day of her cycle, there is nothing about bleeding twice.

If you want to breed dogs get books and start reading them, join groups that are involved in your dog breed. Learn about what you are doing, don’t just put two dogs together, because one is bleeding.

Go to AKC.org and sign up for their newsletter and read the information on their site. Get involved and know what you are doing when you get involved in bringing new life into this world.

I hope you have not put your dogs life in jeopardy.
