My 7 week old puppy cries when I leave him

Bobby, my 7 week old yorkshire terrier puppy cries when hes left. As he is not potty trained I put him in the kitchen with all his things- his bed and blanket, toys, potty pad, and water. But he cries and it breaks my heart to hear him- not only do I find it difficult but what about my neighbours?

Also he cries when put in his create at night, it last around 30 minutes and I have tried everything, he has a hot water bottle in his bed, a ticking clock, something of mine, and we leave the telly on quietly for him- what else can we do? Once settled he sleeps til about 6am but then cries and cries and cries and eventually (after about 30 minutes) I go down to him and comes into bed with myself and my partner. His create is in the living room and I don’t really want to have it in our bedroom as there isn’t really the space.

Please help me!

He has been checked out by the and is healthy

Answer #1

that means that he is suffering from seperation enxiety you should try putting the crate right by your bedroom door that realy helps

Answer #2

our puppy did the same for the first week or two after we got him, all of our dogs did mind you. I know it’s hard, but you have to ignore it, he’ll grow out of it eventually.

Answer #3

I normally have bobbys bed in the corner of the dinning room (our house is open plan and quite small so this is close to the living room and kitchen) if I should b using the create whenever I leave him, do you think I should move his bed into the create and leave it in there permanently so I don’t confuse him?

Answer #4

you need to put him in a crate when ever you leave him, the kitchen is to big and he will never learn about potty training, USE the crate and try rewarding him with a treat everytime you put him in the crate. place a blanket over the crate this should help with the barking. You will break him of this, my chihuahuas lay in there crate all day to sleep with the door open when I am home and will run in the crate when they hear me get my keys, OR he will brake you and you will both be unhappy

Answer #5

he has separation exiaty… my dog has the same they bark and bark and bark when you leave then they do something else and then they get so so so so so so excited.. when you come home.. trust me Missy (my yorkie) is just like that and will always be like that..
