5 week old chihuahua afraid to leave room
I have a 5 week old maltese chihuahua I know kinda youg his mom died so im doin a good thing takeing him in I need advice he is walking and learning how to run he is so playful he follows me and my fianc’e around the room only he is scared to leave the room whyat do you guys think that is his safe plave we call him and he will go to the door and stop never will go to the hall way if we do he would start crying why is that we also have a bunny but we dont allowed them to play so is it because he smells the rabbit in the hall way but the bunny lives in our room to in a cage so im confussed please help and thanks in advance
the more you comfrt the pupies fear the more likely the pup will think this is acceptable. try to just ignore the puppies cries and soon the older the pup gets the more brave and adventourous the pup will b.
He’s just a baby…and frightened of the unfamiliar…If you get on your hands and knees and coax step by step down the hall, I think he’ll follow you…always praise when he does what you want…that’s EVERY step he takes, praise him…
This is VERY little baby…far younger than most pups leave their moms…so you have to be the mom…

I think it is because it is all new to him, you need to bring him out by using treats or showing him the rest of the house and how fun the rest of the house can be, If you baby him and allow him to just Hide in the room you will not have a very happy dog, He needs to see new things, noises and people, once he is fully vaccinated take him around all kinds of things, he will come out of his shell and be a happier dog
