do you mean is it possible to become dependent on it? if so, then supposedly no but for me i am pretty sure that i have become dependent– which sucks! :(

When taking melatonin you should take it for 28 days only, then stop for a few days. Usually 2 to 3 days. After that you can start again with another round of 28 days.

Better than that is taking Apatho Cherry juice. It’s loaded with melatonin, and one doesn’t have to cut back. Or eat a banana before going to bed. It is also full of melatonin. Also turkey.

Melatonin often leaves some people in a feeling of being drugged. It does me. My best remedy is chocolate milk before going to bed. One doesn’t have that after feeling of being drugged. Drink it cold or hot. I like both ways.

And what is the proper mg for an adult? I have 5mg tabs, is that to much?

That is the right mg for adults. One tablet every night for 28 days, stop for 2 or 3 days, and begin for another 28 days.
