Will contract work have a background check?

I used to be a research engineer, now I can not find employment with a 5th degree controlled sub. I have been cleannfor over a year. Willing to start expungment, but need $. I used to be a carpenter too!, but no jobs in that industry at the momment. Will conract work eliminate background check ?

Hi,

I’m not entirely sure, but the best thing to do is simply be honest upfront with potential employers. They would probably be glad to know the truth instead of finding out through the background check. If they are going to have one, they should tell you, and then you can choose that time to tell them if you like.
