Im 38 weeks and 3 days along my appetite sucks lately im so tired my pelvis and hips are hurting bad and I been having a lot of lower back pain...I have had kidney stones my entire 3rd trimester so im not sure if what im feeling is early labor pain or just from the stones At my last appointment was 2.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced I'm not exactly sure what that means as far as when ill go into labor with my first son I had to be induced 2 weeks past my due date and didn't feel anything till push time so im not exactly sure what the early stages of labor feel like
Since you're effaced...your cervix is thinning out...and dialated...your cervix is opening...yes, you're in early labor.
The baby has dropped and is pushing on your cervix...that's why you are having hip and pelvic pain.
Active labor...contractions right after each other and only a minute - 5 minutes apart is the next stage. This could happen at any time now. My best friend walked around 90% effaced and 3 centimeters dialated for 5 weeks so it is normal for this to happen but be prepared because you could go to the hospital at any time.

Relax if you are, and rest up, you'll be having that baby sometime soon (maybe, depending on how fast you go, we're all different!!)...take some deep breaths and wait for your beautiful baby to arrive, you're far enough along that the baby is full developed and is getting ready for birth.
