Hi,

Tetracycline is an antibiotic produced by the streptomyces bacterium, indicated for use against many bacterial infections. It is sold under the brand names Tetralysal 300®, Panmycin®, Brodspec® and Tetracap®, among others.

Side effects include rashes, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, constipation and fever.

Also, 5 months is a long time to be on an antibiotic…I know you didn’t ask it, but just wanted to put that out there :)

Hi Littlezo I was on Minocin for around 7yrs!!! I am 47yrs old and started with adult acne during pregnancy (my daughter is now 20) and I suffered terribly, unfortunately without the tablets I got huge boil like spots which eventually broke out into an awful pustule like spot. A couple of weeks ago, I had to contact the doctors for a new precription and spoke with a new doctor who refused (due to side effects of the Minocin) to re-prescribed and gave me Tetralysal which I have now been taking for 1 week. Although it hasn’t put me off my food, I suffer terrible nausea but I am finding the nausea is coming from a like vertigo symptom which as I am typing, increases and if I look down or turn it makes it FAR worse. I believe this is a direct result, or maybe something the Editor can answer, am I having withdrawal symptoms from the Minocin lol!!??? xx

Hello to all! I’ve have been using tetralysal for 11 days. The last 5 I had terrible head aches and the last three days fever, dizziness and vision discomfort. Editor said fever can be a side effect. And the information provided with the medicine said that all these symptoms except fever are possible side effects.

Should I continue the treatment or should I stop??

I take this medication but I haven’t experienced any loss of appetite. Infact I have probably had more of an appetite whilst taking these pills. I hope this helpful?
