Is it the game or the console?

I just got an xbox 360 for Christmas and I love it!! But some of the games wont play. Everyone says it just the games but a few other people think it might be the console. So which is it the games or the console?

I THINK ITS THE CONSOLE AND THATS ONLY BECAUSE ONCE I RETURNED MINE AND GOT A NEW ONE IT DIDNT FREEZE ON ME ANYMORE. ITS TRUE YOUR GAMES WILL FREEZE IF THERE SCRATCHED OR DUSTY, WHICH MAKES THE CONSOLE DIRTY ON THE INSIDE. BUT IF THE CONSOLE IS NEW IM GUESSING YOUR GAMES ARE NEW TOO, IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN ITS PROBABLY THE CONSOLE

The console probably needs an update file (patch, etc.) you can download it from the xbox website…
