Hi- no need to be nervous, most of us here are a pretty understanding bunch!

Slimming down is not easy- sometimes our genes actually make it harder for us to shed extra weight. It sounds like that, along with the abundance of junk food , you’ve got your work cut out for you. I’m of the mind that the “Push play for 30mins a day” is a good system to go by- basically, find 30 minutes of excercise to do each day: go biking (something like geocaching is a great way to get fit, because looking for caches has you biking and walking all over town!), turn on some music and bust a groove in your room, play tag with younger relatives, take up an aqua-aerobics class… theres lots of fun, inexpensive stuff you can do, with friends or on your own.

I wouldn’t be worried about not having ripped abs- I personally find musclebound guys to be majorly unattractive. People who get to know you will like you for who you are, as a whole person, not just what you look like on the outside. If you focus on your good points, it draws the attention away from the not-so-good points, and people are more likely to gravitate towards you. No one likes someone who complains about themselves constantly!

Just lighten up a bit- we’re always the most critical of ourselves, and what you might see as a flaw, someone else might see as a bonus. :)
