Is this a serious illness??

So since yesterday I’ve been experiencing some pain in my throat whenever I speak, laugh or even just sneeze!! But it isn’t like when you have a cold sore throat, I have never experienced it before.. It actually feels like the pain is more in my voice cords. It sometimes feel like I want to cough but all that comes out is a little sissy cough. Today I practiced field hockey at my school for the first time again in about 2 years. I did not feel too bad after practice but this evening I started feeling so tired and nausious. Is it from the out of shape or the illness? Further I just experience a few cold symptoms like headache and fever. I have an accute case of sinus. I just want to know if it will be dangerous for me to continue with the hockey practice and if you have any idea what could be wrong? Also if you could say what I should do about it, I would appreciate it.. Thank you
