I wrote a poem...
I wish I could describe to you how I’d write of you through the ages.
I’d pen you into an immortal state like no other greek goddess or roman warrior ever has been.
Oh, that intangible poetry enscribed upon your face that makes me quiver at the thought of a mere kiss.
The words of wisdom unborn in the lines of your body. And every blink of an eye a breath closer to me.
You’re every beautiful thing I’ve ever seen or smelled or touched. The blooming flower that survived the rain.
Alas, Neptune did drop the ocean in your eyes and took away from me the ability to swim; I am abandoned and ship-wrecked from the marvel you could be if you were mine.
You know what you do to me. You set the disc of a sun in my sky with every time we part.
I wish I could tell you that to me you will never grow a day older and that your voice will never falter.
That I will hear you when no one else will and hold you when you need solace in times of despair.
Hush, for you do not know. Speak not of what you have yet to learn.
Perhaps the quixotic ramblings of an unstable romantic, but after all I was yours, long before you were mine.
