I don't mean to sound naive, but could he be lying?

okay my crush danced with me at prom the other night, he was the one who approached me. I noticed that the whole night; him and his friends were staring at me. Even when I was dancing with other guys,I would look around to find him staring at me. While we were dancing; he took my hand and folded his into mine, he kept rubbing my back while slow dancing and rubbing my arms. I was getting the feeling that he liked me too since I was the only girl he danced with for the night. So it turns out that my friend spoke to him last night and he asked her if she did anything after prom then she said: No, I just went home and spoke to Tamara for a bit.(which is me) then he said: how did she say her night was? then she said: she had amaziiinggg night! I saw you guys dancing together, hot hot hot!! then he said: ahaha, I don’t want to give the wrong intentions or anything, she’s a cool person but yea…then later on in the convo he said that he just wanted to have fun. So I understand that he wanted to have fun…but I don’t understand why he wanted to fold his hand into mine while dancing, rubbing my back, rubbing my arms and out of the whole room, he chose me to dance with…it’s just weird…I mean we didn’t just dance, it was more than that…I know that when I danced with the other guys, they weren’t rubbing my back or folding their hand into mine. I don’t know maybe I’m just naive.

Girls have to stop assuming that whenever a guy gets physical with her, he likes her. I mean, ok he asked you to dance…but that was it. If he really liked you, wouldnt you think he would have hung around you all night, instead of just dancing one song? I get the feeling hes more interested in your friend.

He may like you but doesn’t want to be tied down for the summer. Sometimes a guy will like you and flirt with you but will not want to date you because they don’t want to get serious.

It could have been a joke, sometimes a guy will pretend to like someone but only as a prank, that’s what he could have meant when he said “I just wanted to have fun”
