You are grieving, it’s really awful and there’s not a lot that anybody can say to make you feel better. Just remember how much love you shared with your dog for the short time he was with you and how happy and loved I’m sure you made him feel. Sadly, we will usually outlive our dogs and your baby’s life was cut short too soon but you obviously loved him very much and dogs thrive on love so he was very happy - it hurts and will continue to hurt (I tear up when I remember all my past best friends) but just take comfort in the fact that you made him very happy and loved and in time there will be space in your heart to make another dog as happy as loved as your German Shepard and he will fill your life with joy again. You will never and should never be expected to forget your dog. I am sorry for your loss but it will get easier, in the meantime cry it out, it helps the healing. And remember, as you feel better, it doesn’t mean you love or miss your dog any less - just remember the joy you brought each other and that your dog was so lucky to have somebody who loved him so much

Your right not to get another dog yet. They have really distinct personalities and you should really give yourself time to mourn him.

Sorry about it all by the way.

I know what its like too. I still miss my dog. Dont worry about the crying, its a vital part of the grieving process. If you feel like crying then cry. Dont hold it in. I know its tough but it will get better, just give it time. Good luck.x

I know exactly how you feel!!! It will take time to get used to living without him and realizing that you’ll never see him again, and also realizing that he’s dead! You will cry everytime you remember him (thats whats happening with me) but you have to keep this in mind: there are things that are more important than him, you need to forget him, and if you really cant do it, get another dog, same kind same name, and same age! thats what I did! It will help a lot!

its okay to cry, youve lost a pet, and probably a best freind too crying is part po expressing how you feel about loosing him he was an old dog, 14 is pretty old so think of how nice it was that he lived for so long you probably feel a bit lonely now and miss having something to love and care about if youd like to get another dog, have a look around maybe even a cat or if not, ypu could make up a nice scrapbook if you wanted to and fill it with all the pictures you have of him, and notes like his birthday, favourite toy, ect
