Do you think humans are the only species to have empathy?

Answer #1

Dogs tend to display empathy.

They seem to be keenly aware of when someone is sad or upset. Generations of domestication can lead to some pretty amazing things.

However, between species it’s kind of hard to say. We have empathy between each other and we can understand it but as far as other species goes, I’m not too sure, haven’t really looked into it. I’d have to say possibly. Speaking off the top of my head, other species function instinctively and emotionally. We have a little more to us than just those two.

I don’t know if empathy is instinctive or not. Sorry I lead your question into more questions but I think other species are capable of empathy.

Answer #2

From what I’ve observed, dogs clearly do

Answer #3

No definitely not. Elephants have a lot of feelings.

Answer #4

Animals definitely have empathy. Whenever I had a migraine my cat would cuddle up to me the whole time.
