Maher and his daughter should seek refuge somewhere else.
This is old news. Freedom of religion should be universal, but sadly it is not in a lot of countries in the world. What I do find interesting about this situation is how the right wing is latching on to this story. While I feel for them, and I hope they do get some help from the US, I wonder if they were converts to budhism instead of christianity would right-wingers care so much?
El-Gowhary was referring to radical Muslims. Muslim radicals have called him an apostate and several calls for ‘spilling his blood’ have been issued.
Do I think the USA will help, probably yes.
