How to tell my parents I'm engaged?

How do I explain to my extremely southern baptist parents im engaged? Im 17 and I know its a bit early to be but we have it all planned out for after college.

your 17… you plan on finishing college first so how about you either just tell your parents or get engaged after college??? after all you never know what may happen between now and then, you may not last and call the engagement off…not to be negetive just being realistic

Tell them when yur 18, I think because yuh`ll be older & hey its only 1 year away. Or yu could sit them down & jes let it out. They can’t prevent yu from qettinq married in dhe future, besides that.. Its yur life & yu quys are in love. Good luck.

It doesn’t matter what way you tell them - their reaction will be the same. Just come out and say it, then tell them you’re going out for awhile and you’ll discuss it when they’ve had time to think.
