I am a soft spoken person and sometimes people can't hear me especially in noisy places...how do I speak louder without shouting...it really makes the self esteem suffer...
Try taking singing lessons. This will help with volume, pithch, timbre, and enunciation.
Don't just speak from your throat, use all of the assets provided at birth.
Lungs. Diaphragm. Larynx. Mouth.
Experiment with sounds. Try emulating someone with a deep voice, and someone with a high voice, then speak loudly and softly, then try various permutations of these!
Try changing your posture as well, as if you are slouched, then the lung capacity is decreased.

Speak from your diafram. Like when people sing they sing from that to make themseves louder. Maybe it will work =]
