How to make the first kiss a good one with a new girlfriend?

The first kiss with someone is always tough. It’s a matter of timing. First of all, don’t plan it out. It’s too obvious, very trite, and can take a lot of the romance away… and in the end, isn’t that what you’re going for?

Spontaneity is the rule here, in my opinion. If you’re giving her a long and loving hug, pull away briefly (still keep an arm around her), reach up and stroke her cheek, cup her chin in your hand and pull her towards you for a kiss. Or walking down the street holding hands, stop and pull her towards you for a kiss. If you’re snuggling on the couch, tilt her face up towards you and lean into her for a kiss.

Make it a surprise, but do it at a time when the two of you are enjoying some time together and having fun. And if you paid attention to what I said above and read between the lines: don’t just dive towards her for a kiss, it can be too much of a shock and cause her to be reflexively defensive. Use your hands, your fingers, and pull her in towards you. Finally, watch her eyes: if she’s looking at your mouth, as long as you don’t have something stuck in your teeth she’s probably thinking about kissing you herself.

Be spontaneous, be romantic, don’t over-plan for it, and go for it when the two of you are having the most fun together!
