How teaching of latter day saints and roman catholic differs?

What is the different of latter day saints and roman catholic with regard jesus christ?

Answer #1

I am not sure how they differ in regard of Jesus Christ, but they believe in an Angel Moroni not included in Roman Catholic revelation , and in the practice of polygamy not admitted under Roman Catholicism.

Answer #2

The Catholics say Jesus is god. They also claim that there is only one god, but three persons, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. That’s a little bit like the Hindu idea that you have Brahma and then lots of avatars, like Vishnu, Shiva, etc. (And yes, the word “avatar” is a lot older than computers.)

The Latter Day Saints say Jesus is a very important person, a saint basically, but not god. Also, although both Catholics and the LDS honor the Bible, the LDS church has the Book of Mormon as their main book. They claim that it was discovered in the 19th century.

Answer #3

You’re a little off about LDS. We don’t believe in the trinity, no, but we believe that Jesus, while not the being whom humanity has named as God, is a part of the Godhead. And while we do use other scripture, the Bible is just as important as the BOM to us. It’s still larger than all of the other scriptures combined.
