How do you add fractions with different denominator?

Show me how to add three different fractions with three different denominators? 1/3 + 2/5 + 1/2=?

Answer #1

Thanks very helpful!

Answer #2

find a commen multiple for each fraction, then multiply to numerator by the same number you did with the denominator for each faction.

Answer #3

The first step is to find the Lowest Common Denominator. This is the smallest number that all of the denominators are a factor of.

Multiply both the numerator and denominator of each fraction with whatever number will raise the denominator to the Lowest Common Denominator.

Add the numerators and divide by the Lowest Common Denominator and simplify if necessary.
