How do I get to feel of the holy spirirt? I have felt it before and it was amazing, rite now I just feel an evil force inside me, because I am depressed all the time and paranoid and have irrational fears that control my life. I have felt like this for 2+ years.
Just read the Bible. When you read the Bible the evil forces and evil ideas will flee. Also keep praying. These two things will bring you out of depression. Some people seek the experience of the Holy Spirit. Seek the Holy Spirit rather than the experience. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is your savior? Can you sincerely call God 'Father' when you pray? Do you want to be close to God always? If yes you already have the Holy Spirit. Just don't be worried about not having any experiences.
Depression is caused by an imbalance of a chemical in the brain that produces joy and sorrow. My advice, is that you go see a doctor or councilor- someone that can help you get control over this. Also, reguardless of how you feel, do something that will make you laugh and smile more, surround yourself with good friends and family and in your private time, count your blessings and praise God for every one of them. Brain chemicals are what determines your mood, not an imaginary creature or cloud like figure. Welcome to depression, you're amongst the vast majority of the population that should take antidepressants. And no I'm not the Antichrist as many closed-minded fools will probably say in the upcoming posts, I am the voice of logic and reason. See a doctor. Be happy.
lol @ clawjaw... yeh, prey on the holy spirit... and then pounce, just when he's least expecting it.
Happiness comes from within, shemmy... it also helps if you've eaten well, got some good mates who make you laugh... making your mates laugh is good for you too... and exercise releases lots of good endorphines.
its not the "'devil"' inside you thats making you depressed if thats what your thinking if your depressed that means you need help it means there some problems you have that you need to speak up and get help for no one can help you if they dont know you need help
thanks for all your answers but I've tried loads of different medications, antisycotics, antidepressants, hypnosis, and none of them help, thats why I belevie its a spiritual problem. Im not wanting sympathy at all just some good advice maybe? xx
keep believing. and I know, it felt really good. it's like my burden was washed away. anyway, read the bible and realize that he had done miracles whcih is really amazing and nobody could ever do it. admire his works.
Open your heart seriously to Jesus & pray at Him to relieve all the depression you feel & try to be a member of christian affiliation so that someone will share at you about God righteousness..
I think you have to prey and truely belive in him...

You can't. If you ever truly believe the holy spirit is inside of you then it's time for a psychiatrist.
