how do I get my dad to stop yelling at me when I didnt do anything?

my dad didnt tell me he was recording something on tv. I wanted my mom to hear somthing on the computer so I put it on mute.my dad walked in after about 2 minutes and relized what I did. he yelled at me and called me a dummy. I told him that people made mistakes, and that I didnt know he was recording something. that made him madder. I couldnt get him to shut up so I went in my room and locked the door.hes still yelling through the door. help.

Yiu did a fine Job walking away without disrespecting him. You did nothing wrong except a small mistake !! Tell your DAD I am Sorry !!

Answer #2

You did the right thing going in your room so you dont start trouble I do the same thing an dmy mom follows me too I was in a mental hostpital because of my depression and they told me and my mom that I should do that go into my room when we start fighting so it wont cause problems but she follows me so it dont work. I totally know how you feel.

Answer #3

You can’t say you didn’t do anything because you did. It was through no fault of your own, though. He should have let everyone know before leaving the room he was doing something so no one would change the channel or mute it etc. I agree it was a nice move on your part to go to your room and get away from him. Just wait it out for a while. He’ll calm down. It was an accident, he can’t be angry forever. Oh, man. I hope it wasn’t something sports related, though. You know how guys are about their football or baseball games. =O

Answer #4

I’d just say Oh dad I’m so sorry, and suggest he tell me next time he’s recording something.
