Can I stop my Dad from forcing my sister to get an abortion?
how can I stop my dad from making my sister get an abortion? my sister really wants to keep the baby..
The doctor won’t abort the baby if the mother doesn’t want the baby aborted. Her father has nothing to do with it. The baby is part of her now, and it’s her choice if she wants to keep it or abort it.
Yes, the doctor must have the mothers consent, but under pressure she may not be able to stand up for herself. I recommend that you AND HER go to family services and get her a caseworker to help her. They can represent her aside from your family. Be aware that this could make a rift in the family, you and your sis against the rest.
Do remember that your dad is trying to help her out though. Obviously he thinks she is not ready yet or unable to and he is doing this because he loves her.
But if you do get legal help, make sure her and the father of the baby are of age, because once you get the courts involved there may be some action taken against the two.
But… first and foremost, she has to be the one with the final decision, and she needs to weigh out ALL of the pro’s and cons.
Child protective services needs to be called so she can get away if that is the only legal way to get away from him.
she dosent have to get an abortion if she dosent want to, remind her of that.
the clinic needs her consent. period.
