How do I become emo?

Don’t endorse people to actually do it…they can take this sh*t seriously…like cutting themselves…Don’t do any of that, labels be stupid like I said before!

First of all, emo does NOT stand for emotional, or emotionally unstable. It stands for Emotive Hardcore, which is a type of music. You can’t dress like music, so the whole emo style, that’s just nonsense. But, most people that are called emo tend to dress in many dark colors, though not all do. Some just wear black skinnies and a normal shirt. Converse are not considered emo. They’re basketball shoes. So wear vans. Slip-on vans are more Scene, though. You need pretty much any hair color, as long as it’s straight and you have bangs. One eye must be covered, or you can just get a straight fringe. Some emo’s like to tease their hair. Teasing is when you comb your hair backwards, close to the root. Then you either gelspray or hairspray the teased part so that it stays in place. http://www.wikihow.com has a lot of information on how to be emo, but I think that what I’ve told you so far should do just fine. Your personality should remain what it already is, but if you’re a loud and/or bubbly attitude, just try to be a little more quiet. Always think at least twice about what you’re about to say.

I don’t believe in labels. but I guess if I did, I’m sorta emo. people think emo is a style when really it’s a personality. It simply means to be emotional. But, the style is normally black nails, dark eyeliner. AWESOME hair! you listen to awesome music! I think emo is the coolest! Try some of these bands. you;ll love em

How anyone could have said cut yourself as a legitimate method for becoming “emo” is beyond me. That is reckless and stupid, especially just to fit in with a trend. Why would you want to be a part of a trend? A label? Be yourself, throw your own clothes together, wear things you’ve never worn together before, be creative- care what YOU think of yourself, not other people.

As for the person who said “take everything for granted”- I had to laugh at that. Not in a bad way, but because most kids these days do take the things they have for granted. Good call ;)

why do you want to become emo??? Technically, you would have to be, like, suicidal or something and slit your wrists. But since that doesn’t sound like fun, you could try black ballet flats, Black skinny jeans, a heavy metal rock t-shirt, dying your hair black, painting your nails black, wearing black eye liner on the bottom of your eye lids, and pretty much be depressed 24/7…Sounds like fun, huh? (not really! why would you want to be emo???)
