How can I start a short story creative?

I need to write a short story for school. its gonna be about a guy that falls in love with a girl and in the end hes killed in a car accident. does anyone have ideas on how to start it? something creative. and also, how should I write on how the girl finds out hes dead? nothing like “im sorry so and so, he was killed” please help. im clueless!

the important thing is to start with something catchy, I dont know exactly how you want to write it, if its in past tense or present, but maybe if you start with something like “its the moments in life, the ones where you meet someone that you have somehow managed to avoid all of your life and you begin to realise just how much you were missing out on, because this person can make you smile in the most natural way, and her little laugh can bring warmth to your chest. But she stil doesn’t know who I am. I am invisible. This has to change.” I dunno, dont use that but as long as it has a catchy starts your all set. it doesn’t mtter how she finds out as long as time stopsaround herad she finds it hrd to breathe when she does. Always start your story with a huge event. That gets the reader’s attention. Open with a horrible, bloody car crash.
