How can I make kids go to sleep

How can I make a 12 year old child go to sleep fast

Answer #1

You can try several things like making them have a “fun” activity where you make them run/do some sorta athletic activity, later they’ll become tired and go to sleep. Or you can try the classic of reading them a story.

like usaflinguist has said… get him up early, and don’t give him caffaine or sugary stuff that makes him hyper, simply make him do heavy duty housework (mow/water the grass) and play sports all day.. and by the end of the day… he’ll be pooped out!!

Im 13 and I find that listening to an audio CD based on a book that I like gets me to sleep fast. Also if I wear a blindfold I am not distracted by everything in my room so quickly fall alseep. Also, if I am not feeling tired at all I drink a glass of milk or a hot chocolate, it makes me so tired!!! best of luck!

Get them up early, haha, well I don’t have any kids but get them up early and try to get them to bed earlier than you want them to sleep…on average it takes a person 30 minutes to get to sleep.

Answer #5

You could try and make their daily schedule quite busy yet fun during the day so that way they just have to sleep! I assume their in school from 7am-3pm. Well, try to get them involved in outside activities such as softball/basketball/tennis/golf etc…some kind of league that is like from 4-6 then when they’re home, they’ll b hungry and finish homework/watch little tv and they should be pretty tired. Works w/my friends kids. They seem to have so much going on w/outside activities and that definately makes your body tired and naturally to wake up at 6 they know they gotta sleep. Also, eating healthy keeps the body well balanced while certain junk food ingriedients may excite them and keep them up for a long time.
