How can I live with these psychotic parents?

So mi parents were divorced for a while and there was a big fight between mi mom’s side and mi dad’s side of the family. Now mi parents are back together (they wasted a year of mi life with their problems) but everything is different. Mi grandma used to live with us (on mi mom’s side) and now she doesnt because mi dad thinks she was the problem. Now mi baby sister (who hasnt started school yet) needs to be babysitted by someone. She usually goes to mi dads parents which isnt a problem for mi mom. But on some occasions when mi dad cant drop her off there (fyi mi mom doesnt talk to mi dads family and the other way around too) mi sis goes to mi moms side to be watched for the day. Mi dad is a bumhole. He cant stand them (tho they did nothing so horrible to him) so everytime mi sis goes there, he makes a huge problem. Right now he’s being stupid. Not talking to mi momand making offensive comments about her family. Im worried. If mim parents start having problems again mi mom wont be able to afford a divorce lawyer again. I dont know what to do. I have become so depressed.

It is so true that you can’t pick your family. You just have to grin and bear it. There is nothing you can do to fix this mess you have been trust into. The older you get the more life you will have outside of your family circle. Just stay out of the mess. If they try to pull you in let them know that their arguments have nothing to do with you.

Answer #3

pray. ask God for wisdom and help. I used to have problems too but it wasnt my parents it was my sister’s eating disorder and I couldnt tell anyone or try and get help because I had to keep it a secret. so I bought a journal and I wrote. I wrote everything I was feeling and no one knows whats written in that little book except me and God. Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” I will pray for you and I really hope things get better :) -holly
