How can I get my dad to let me have a boy sepnd the night?

I’m an 18 year old girl, but I still live with my parents. I want to have my ex boyfriend, who is still one of my best friends, spend the night. My mom said as long as I get my dad to say yes, it’s fine with her. They never had a problem with me spending the night at his house, but my dad is pretty old school. My ex is 19 years old, and in college.

Answer #1

well I wanted the samething so I told him he was gay now

Answer #2

Geeze, I’d have had to murder my father to accomplish this. It’s his house, he deserves to have his rules respected. It’s a massive disrespect to a father when his daughter’s boyfriend (or EX boyfriend) doesn’t respect his wishes and choses to stay the night even when unwanted by the man of the house. Maybe you could offer to set him up in the guest bedroom? That might go over better with your dad.

Answer #3

You live in his house you live by his rules. If you don’t like it then you should consider moving out.

Personally I would never let a boy spend the night with my daughter in my house. My husband would probably chase after the kid with a gun. Why does he even need to spend the night? If he’s your ex then you don’t have a physical relationship with him anymore, right?

Answer #4

well MY dad was oldschool and he never let me spend the night with my boyfriends I had to move out before I got to do anything. count you blessings. if I lived at home that would never have happened. but being that he did let you spend the night eith him maybe he will let him spend the night. just tell him

“you used to let me spend the night over there and here you would be able to keep an eye on us better.” or offer to sleep in sepreate rooms or to keep your door open
