im muslim and my dad doesnt want to celebrate christmas, but I always wanted to ever since I was a little girl. is there a way I can convince my parents to celebrate christmas and still be muslim?
I agree that you don't have to be Christian to participate in Christmas activities.
Perhaps you can persuade your dad that you really only want to spend time with friends and learn how they celebrate religious days in their own traditions. As a practising Muslim, I've always respected different faiths and, following the tradition of The Holy Prophet, Muhammad PBUH, I've always exchanged gifts with friends at Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah and other festivals. I even take my children to the various Christmas celebrations and let them speak to Santa, they're only young once.
Perhaps you can draw your dad's attention to the Hadith (tradition) I've mentioned here Fun mail me if you want some assistance in this regard.
Good luck Layme
Tell your mom instead. OR
Explain to your dad that Christmas would be nice as a family celebration. Explain that you're not interested in the religious side of it. That you love Islam, but just wanna experience the fun and gifts.
OR ask your parent's permission to go over to a friends house on Christmas Eve and sleep over, so you can celebrate with them. Bring gifts!
Remember, xmas was a pagan holiday before Christianity covered it up... Easter too... and the 'cross' for that matter...
So...
You don't actually need to think of it as a 'religious' holiday.
give you dad some money and say but this and this and this ect on this day! lol
You don't have to be Christian today to celebrate Christmas.
Write santa a letter and have your dad accidentaly find it

Celebrate Yule. . . . Really confuse them.
