What causes hormone imbalance in women?

I recently went to the doctor and was told one of my ovary’s is getting to large and its because of hormones? but he hasnt given me treatment, What can i do?

Answer #1

if your ovary is getting too large, it sound like you may not have enough oestrogen. Your brain releases hormones (luteinising hormone - LH and follicle stimulating hormone - FSH ) which act on the ovaries and this causes your body to produce oestrogen which, aside from the roles it plays on your reproduction system, also acts back on the brain to tell it to stop producing LH and FSH. With low oestrogen (or if your brain doesnt respond to oestrogen) though, this feedback cant occur so your body produces more and more of these other hormones. If this is what is happening (which im not saying it is, its just one possiblity), it would be caused by a problem either in your ovary, affecting your oestrogen production, or your brain not responding to oestrogen
