Homemade braces? I've never heard of that, but I don't see how it could be logical. The reason you go to an educated and certified orthodontist is because he or she can inspect your teeth, jaw, and mouth as a whole to find a logical path for everything to fall in. Your dental positions impact the entire structure of your face and how you eat. You can't just superglue wires in your mouth and hope everything goes in a line. There's a huge method involved, and the precision required can only be received from an orthodontist.
If you're looking for something affordable because you can't pay for braces, there are aids out there. Your dental insurance may cover a large portion of the costs, and there are governmental programs you may go through as well, like Medicaid. You can go through a payment program that will allow you to pay out the balance in low monthly installments. Just ask your local orthodontist for details.
If you mean braces for your teeth, there is a reason why orthodontists spend so long at uni. Its not something you can just do yourself. Besides, you may need teeth removed and other dental work done to get your teeth straight. Go to someone who is qualified and knows what they are doing. If you mean the clothing, I have no idea sorry!
