Heart rate during exercise

If im 16, 5 ft 1 in, and 120 lbs, is it bad if my heart rate gets up to the 180s during exercise? During my work out my heart rate usually stays in the 170s, but goes to the 80s sometimes for a while. Is this too high? I still feel fine and do not feel like I need to slow down.

the target heart rate that you need to aim @ is:

210 - your age= maximum heart rate (in theory)

(for you 194)

and then to get the most out of your work out depends on what type of fitness you want, for example, do you want tone and fitness or strong and big muscles.

tone and fitness you need to aim at about 70-80% of your maximum heart rate, thats about 145

strong and big muscles you need to aim above 80%, thats about 165. But if you go higher than about 90% you won’t benefit from the work out.

hope it helps.
