Will the pink show up if it's dyed over light red hair?

What will happen if you dye pink over red hair, will it show up if it’s light red hair?

Answer #1

I’mmmmmmm no expert but trying to get a light color over a dark color might just not do anything. Dx

Answer #2

Mixing colors like that usually never works…It just makes a mess..You should go to a salon and get it done so you get the right color….Hope I Helped and Good Luck!

Answer #3

It would be a rare case, if that was the outcome. If you mix, the majority of the time you will get a brownish or brassy color. Go to a salon, it’ll do you good.

Answer #4

Reds and pinks are the hardest colours to get into hair. Has the dye got a number on it? Eg 6.66 (which would be red)? Pink most likely won’t show up on red hair. Could you post a pic of the red hair now?

Answer #5

It was black and I stripped it to the semi red that I had underneath from before, now some of it is blonde streaks, and some of it is a light copper red/orange. I was hoping if the pink shade I choose was dark enough it might work. Hmm maybe I can get a pic up..

Answer #6

Bleach is magic. Try it! :)

Bleach is magic. Try it! :)

Answer #8

you can do it but you would have to ues a stripping agent first you can buy them almost anywhere hair dye is sold.

Answer #9

Also, if you have a local walgreen’s or any pharmacy, you should look at their hairdye selection. The best brand to use at home is called splat. I used it to dye my hair “fettish pink” and also dark blue. It comes with blach and dye and instructions. The only problem I’ve had with dying my hair is that afterwards for a week or so it is kind of dry. but, alas, that is easily solved by leaving your conditioner in a couple extra minutes in the shower!

Answer #10

It sounds like you have about an 8.44 or 8.46 colour base at the moment. If you used a magenta pink, it should work, because the base is lower than an 8 (the base would probably be a 7 or even 6 for magenta pink) but a baby pink will probably just go a manky orange colour as the base will be an 8 or a 9. The base needs to be darker than the colour on your hair for it to take.

Answer #11

It will show up a little darker than you’re expecting but it will have some pink in it:)

Answer #12

no its not going to work..u have to bleach ur hair and then dye it pink
