What is this hand pain due to crocheting?

I crochet a lot, and it involves very repetitive movements. I’ve been crocheting for several years now, but lately, I’ve been crocheting daily, and I’ve noticed that I have a lot of hand pain, in both my right and left hand, although they both hurt differently. My right thumb is painful to rotate, where on my left hand my last two fingers are painful to move. Recently clutching items has been painful for the both. I am still pretty young-16, but I doubt growing pains could be a good excuse. Any suggests, ideas?

I wonder if young people get arthritis? It might be a possibility. My other thought is carpal tunnel, or some “form” of it. You just should take a break from crocheting, maybe give your hands a break. Talk to your doctor or parents if you are worried, it doesn’t seem like a big deal but it might be a lot worse than you think. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, I think!

That’s pretty much one of two obvious possibilities - Carpal Tunnel, or Arthritis. A doctor can check for that, and any other possibilities, so if you have lasting pain, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get a professional opinion.
