I've always wondered this. Growing up I've always been pretty shy. My mom is shy as well. I have a lot of similar personality traits as her too. Throughout the years I've gained a lot of confidence but there are times where my shyness creeps in. Do you guys thing shyness is inherited?
I used to have "Selective Mutism" which is when I get so nervous around people, I wouldn't talk at all, and I was veryshy . It was inherited, because it's a disability. But overall shyness, I mean if your parents are shy, it's a trace of personality, so it could be inherited.
Naw. It's all personal experiences that grow on you. Just look at about 95% of kids from about ages 1-4... All of them extremely outgoing, it isn't until they actually realize how big the world actualy is that they either develop shy, outgoing, or anywhere in between
Not through genetics, but through environment. Being raised by someone who tends towards certain personality traits could rub off on you.
I don't think it's inherited so much as a human experience we all have now and then......
