im not getting anything serious to alter my looks or anything like that im happy with everything i just want to get foot surgery cuz i was born without and arch and so my foot is flat like a duck kindof i wear heals a lot so that way an arch will slowley form and i heard u can rub a tennis ball under them but i dont have tennis balls. and the heals are taking forever and i prefer cnvers anyways so i dont like doing it. my mom said she wouldnt mind if i did that cuz its not like im getting lipo or a boob job she said she wouldnt even mind a nose job but i dont want one. im just afraid that when i get old somthing will happen to my foot like my ankels will snap or something so i want to fix it as soon as possible but some pple make a big deal when u get surgery no matter what it is so i want to know would pple respect me any less or something? and im not completly archless but less then evryone else.
Surgery is not neccasary for a flat foot...if your doing it just so you can wear heels...yes that a pretty shallow reason to go under the knife. I also dont agree with minors getting unnessary surgery....if you want it, wait until your 18 and can legally get it done on your own.
People don't seem to realize how much their feet affect their general health...it may not be doing you much harm now, but left untreated, it can cause knee and back pain, and eventually, arthritis.
If you were getting a nosejob, yes, that would be wrong in my opinion. But for fallen arches I think it's perfectly okay! That's like saying it's wrong to get knee surgery or something.
Rather get the surgery. I have a friend with flat arches who never got the surgery. She is now 22 and struggling with chronic back pain. It should benefit you a lot in the long run.
lol when u said the thing about getting a knee job that made me realize how silly this question really was but i cant help to think a bad knee is way more severe then fallen arches
I think that getting surgery for this reason would not be wrong nor shallow. You're getting it done to feel better in the long run - not look like a barbie.
Why would that be wrong? Having fallen arches can seriously affect your posture and cause you a lot of pain....I think it's important to have it corrected.
i didnt know if it was wrong cuz i didnt know how bad it was i just assumed something would happen but wasnt sure
u should go ahead and get it! ur not doin it to change ur appearence, ur gettin it so its more convient for u.
