If you're from the UK, like I am, at 18 you can apply for a certificate of your original birth registration form which should tell you where you're from but I'm sure your adoptive parents have your birth certificate or records which say where you were born.
My Nan was adopted and wanted to find out more about her family and history so she paid to have her original birth certificate reprinted and sent to her.
Your adoptive parent will know the location of your birth.
