Answer #2

It depends on how active…how experienced…how big…or small…said family is looking for…If they are couch potatoes, they don’t want a dog who is bred to be very active (no Border Collies, no German Shepherds, no herding dogs at all)…if they have no experience in having a dog, they don’t want a “Dominant Breed”…ie German Shepherds, Rotties, Dobies, Pits, etc etc.

Do research and see what dog breed best fits the family in question.

Take this little quiz and BE HONEST with yourself.

Answer #3

My wife and I just got a golen retriever and yellow lab mix. Best dog ever and extremly easy to train. First week he was fully house broken, sit, lay down, roll over and two days was all it took for him to calmly walk down the street. He was very jumpy when we first got him but never jumped on my son. No matter how many times that two and a half year old pulled on his skin, sat on him, or stuck his hand in his mouth he never once snapped at him. Best choice EVER.
