Falling in your sleep?

Do you ever almost fall asleep but then feel like you are falling off a cliff or something then nearly fall out of bed?

Answer #1

this happened to me in school! We were taking English exams and I finished so I went to sleep. Next thing I know, I was falling out of a window that was on the 80th floor of a building, and when I hit the ground, it was likee some one hit me in the face with a slegehammer (without the pain). I jumped a foot and a half out of my seat and knocked my papers and glasses onto the floor! Everyone started laughing at me, needless to say, I was embarassed! :)

I’ve fallen out of bed as a child in my sleep. I’ve never really had that happen to me recently. But, I know what your coming from when you fall asleep or fall out of bed, it is kind of like falling off a cliff or mountain. We do that because we’re probably dreaming and having nightmares. If you have problems with that, see your doctor.

It’s called a myoclonic jerk. It’s when your muscles are relaxing its considered negative myoclonis..and when it tightens up causes you to jump or twitch…and usually you feel like your falling. Hiccups are the same thing..only it effects your diaphragm. diseases like epilepsy and Parkinson’s kind of work in the same way only its when those twitches are out of control… almost everyone experiences myoclonic jerks- I get it like once a week… but there are much less people who have neurological disorders like epilepsy

Answer #4

Yes, every night right before I fall asleep I jerk in my sleep and it usually involves a crash or falling off of a cliff. I read somewhere that most people do it and it’s called night tremors or something like that.

Answer #5

I do this all of the time. when I just fall asleep, I fall like off a cliff or just out of the sky or I trip and fall off of something(I dothis a lot in real life, lol). I feel the rush of falling from a high place, then feel a thump as I “hit” my bed and wake up. it feels sso real that I get scared sometimes. I know when I wake up that it’s a dream, but I can never remember during it so I can use my mind to control myself. it’s called lucid dreamin where you are asleep and dreamin and you know it. I do it sometimes, it’s fun cause you can do wut eva you want and you know that wont have 2 deal with the consequenses l8a cause there are none. you can b free and act crazy, it’s great. oh, srry, I’m rambling, you asked about the falling dream, yup, everyone experiences it, me included=D
