what is the equation for the primary to secondary turns ratio in a transformer ?

E

wow really mathy question sorry idk the answer are you like a genius

no thats why i need to ask :P

E

dont u mean formula?

There are several formulae, depending upon whether voltage, impedance or Current are involved. The voltage and Turns ratio is as follows:

``````                     ns
Vs =  ----  Vp
np``````
where Vs = Secondary voltage
``````        Vp = Primary applied voltage
ns = Number of turns on secondary
np = Number of turns on primary``````

The ratio, ns/np is called the secondary-to-primary turns ratio of the transformer.

Hope this helps.

same thing :P

i ended up finding it XD

e

well i still think your smarter than me because your question confused me lol ;3
