Is it possible to eat too many veggies?

Answer #1

Well probably if that is the only thing you are eating. A person has to have meat or like beans if you are a vegitarian. But otherwise, no, don’t think so. :)

Answer #2

actually, out of all food groups, if you were to eat more then your daily does, fruit and veggies are the best to do it with because they have so much water in them. :) so eat away :D

Potatoes are root vegetables. . Chips ( aka “french fries” ) are fried potatoes and could be entirely vegetable based if fried in vegetable oil. . A typical portion of chips is around 200 grams (7 ounces or just under half a pound) and might typically be served with meat and two other vegetables, and that 200 g portion would contain about 300 kCal. . A fairly average, moderately active 20 year old male, 70 inches tall and weighing 160 lb would require around 2400 kCal per day to maintain his weight substantially constant, and he could get those calories by eating just a double portion of chips per meal - four meals per day and nothing else.
. However, the nutrition would be very low on protein, vitamins, and trace elements, and would have too big a proportion calories from fat, so it certainly would not be a “healthy diet”. . If this hypothetical 20 year old man started eating a triple portion of chips, four meals per day he would be consuming around 3700 kCal per day ( around 1300 kCal too many to maintain his weight constant ).
. He would start to gain weight at around two pounds per week, and would gradually get physically unfit and probably become less active as a result of his extra weight and unhealthy diet. . If he continued that unhealthy diet, together with a less active lifestyle, I would expect his weight to continue to rise (gradually less and less rapidly) and he would probably be classed as obese (with a weight above about 210 pounds) within a year.
. If he continued to maintain that vegetable only “triple-portion french-fry diet” his weight would continue to rise until it stabilized at about 330 pounds, and it is likely that the only exercise he would be getting would be moving his enormous bulk around between the bed, car, chip shop / supermarket & kitchen, bathroom, and sofa. . My summarizing conclusion: .,,,,, yes it is possible to eat too many veggies. .

well of course its possible but then the questions strike me, how much is to many? and who would want to eat all those vegetables. vegetables and fruit should make up to a third of our daily intake of food and there is no harm in eating as much as u like. Not only do they make a lovely delicioys addition to meals but are also very high in antioxidants like vitamin C. They also help the body to repair after long bouts of stress and illness and help to protect the bdy in the futur. Tomatoes, for example, include lycopene which can even help to protect your eyes from sight problems.

Answer #8

No, but if you eat only veggies and nothing else, you might suffer malnutrition. You have to get a balanced diet.

Some people do that terrible cabbage soup diet - eating only cabbage soup, as much of that as they like - but nothing else. This plays hell with digestion and it will give people deficiency symptoms if they do it too long.
