Does anyone have experience with Huntington's Disease?

who know about huntington’s disease? who out their has a family member who die from this disease?

Hey, yeah My grandfather had it, as well as MS, and he was in a nursing home when he died… It was sooo bad… people that knew him so well didnt want to see him cause they didnt want to see how bad he was… And he was soo skinny, and really upsetting for whom that did see him. My uncle has HD and MS as well and is also in a nursing home and he is only 40.. He isnt as bad as my pop. but is sure on his way.. I feel so sorry cause he cant even look after his two children who are even in high school. My mother also has it, so I have a chance to get it. I don’t know if I want to get tested when I turn 18. I feel sorry so proud of my grandmother, having to deal with it,and being so strong, raising me and my sister, cause my mother is unable to. It has been tough on me, throughout high school, cause it separates me from everyone else, cause I always have to be committed to the family, so I miss out on my childhood, and teen years. If I do get it, I choose not to have kids. so I don’t my kids to do through the barriers that I am faced with.

My ex’s grandmother and Father have it. My ex used to show me photos and videos of his father before they even knew about the disease…it deffinatly changes a person and it is horrible to watch them slow disapear into someone you dont know. watching his mother deal with it, I felt so sad. My ex chooses not to get tested at 18 because he wants to live his life out and not have everything just being another plan for the future if he does have it.

My granddad had it - its not nice - it was horrible to see him suffering from it :(
