Do I have an in grown toenail?

When I go to cut my toenails, I always cut the corners if my big toe really short. Last time I cut them, it didn’t hurt when I cut it, but now on my left foot, big toe, left corner, it hurts. When I push on it- it hurts. I think I cut it way to short. How do I get it to stop hurting?

Yes it’s an ingrown toe nail. Your best bet is to not mess with it too much, most of them will just grow out normally and the pain will go away. A home remedy that my mom taught me that strangely works is to put some nail polish remover on a cotton pad, and then rub the pad on the in-grown toenail area. I guess the alcohol in it somewhat sterilizes the area.

You should get it checked by your foot doctor. It’s an ingrown toe nail. Get that checked out before it gets worse.
