What is the dilution factor and the total undiluted white blood cell count?

a sample containing 5mL blood .. added to it 25mL saline. find the dilution factor and the total undiluted count of WBCs if the diluted = 30cells/mm3. can anyone help me solve this? any help or hint would help. thanks

Answer #1

So, add the amount of specimen to the amount of dilutant to get a final volume: 5mL + 25mL = 30mL Now divide the final volume by the amount of specimen: 30mL/5mL = 6 dilution factor … and this is as far as I can figure it out … sorry, it’s been far too long.
