I’ve been there. I think a lot of people have, so remember that you’re not alone, even when you think you are. First of all, why are you depressed anyway? Don’t go off listing the reasons, because that will just make you worse. But if it’s for no good reasons, PLEASE seek professional help. You can visit a school guidance counselor or talk to a friend or a trusted adult. It’s always best to let someone know how you feel, but especially when you are depressed for seemingly no reason, which means that you probably have a horomone imbalance. That’s what antidepressants are for. However, if it’s for tangible reason, don’t just focus on it. If you get into a good mood, hold onto that. Think, “what made me happy?” Whatever it is, use that. If you actually try to fix what’s wrong, it makes you feel really good. That probably sounds lame, but it’s true. When my boyfriend broke up with me, I got my mind off of him by planning and throwing an elaborate party. I know that’s a much smaller thing, but still, you get what I mean, right?

Don’t hurt yourself. Really. I know that’s it’s a hard habit to kick…but try…please. It hurts me, even though I don’t know you, to hear that. If you feel like doing that, I would probably suggest doing something else. Like going for a long run. That helps me out a lot when I feel depressed too.

And don’t think I’m magically cured or anything…I’m still very depressed AT TIMES but I have taken the liberty to NOT commit suicide and give an honest effort at not cutting myself. And besides…you have a boyfriend! Isn’t that great? Hang out with him all the time.

My point is, if you spend all your time sitting around doing nothing (or on MySpace or watching tv) you’re bound to think too much and get really depressed. Busy yourself.

I hope I helped…if nothing improves, please do me a personal favor and see a medical professional. I know that many people would be really disappointed and sad if you decided to go through with it and kill yourself. It’s really terrible. So just try to cheer up, please.
