MOUTH (river); The area of a lake’s shore that narrows into a river. PENINSULA; A low, long and narrow geographical feature surrounded on 3 sides by a body of water. PLATEAU; A high, long, usually tectonically formed ridge. If I remember correctly a plateau is at least 500feet higher than the surrounding geography. And It’s apt to have cliffs on the edges. STRAIT; a body of water surrounded by land on 3 sides, that extends far inland. Think like the opposite of a peninsula. I know they’re similar to fjords. PLAIN; an expanse of generally flat and occasionally slightly hilly terrain. TRIBUTARY; a stream or river that feeds into a larger river in a geographical drainage system.

These obviously aren’t dictionary answers, but It’s what I think I know. Feel free to tell me if I’m wrong, I want to know if I am. And If not, I’m glad to help!

Took me less than thirty seconds to find a Geography Glossary on the internet…I typed in “Geographic Definitions” into Google…

You can always use Dictionary.com…too…all those words are in the dictionary, with their definitions…

For instance “Mouth”…the outfall at the lower end of a river or stream, where flowing water is discharged, as into a lake, sea, or ocean: the mouth of the Nile.
