If you and your Dad are not able to have a calm discussion as to why he is against your partner, possibly a letter to him will allow you to express your concerns and puzzlement as to why he is rejecting your partner. Has he heard rumors? Is he against her religion? What are his reasons? (At least he is not homophobic.) As a dad myself, I would be deeply concerned if my daughter’s partner were demonstrably bad for her. Remember, he is most likely only looking out for you. That’s what Dads do. You two may not always agree, but at least try to understand each other. You only have one Dad. Whereas you may have many partners throughout your life. Take care, and Good Luck!!

Thanks for the reply , I agree but I’ve been with my partner 3 years and were engaged , my dad tried it on with my partner and that’s how it’s all happened, but I forgave him because like you said you only have one dad . But he dosnt wasn’t to, no my partner and she did nothing wrong , he won’t let me see my brothers etc
